Here’s some discoveries I’ve made…
- If you eat well and according to what your body needs, you WILL lose weight no matter what.
- If you’re tired/unmotivated, you’re not getting enough nutrients/calories/sleep.
- If you’re not enjoying the exercise you’re doing, DO SOMETHING YOU ENJOY! Ultimately, the thing you ENJOY will stick with you MUCH longer.
- Balance is SUPER important
- If you’re eating the right foods, you don’t NEED to restrict your calories. Calories are YOUR FRIEND!
- Carbs are not evil. Your body NEEDS them!
- If you make it ALL about losing weight, it will be very hard to sustain, especially once the weight is lost.
- If you gain a lot of weight back once you stop exercising, your focus was probably in the wrong place—- unless that was your intent.
- It’s all about patience and sustainability.
- What you put in your body is THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR in SUSTAINABLE weight loss.
Like I said, just some stuff I’ve been thinking about…

Well said. :)
We’ve all seen this, but it’s true.
Fitness is a lifestyle. Sometimes we fall off the bandwagon, eat some junk food, then attempt to work it off in the gym.
It’s ok to indulge every now and then. But you cannot make up for a terrible diet by living in the gym.
So last night I was watching the Southwest Regional Finals of American Ninja Warrior! These guys are beast!
Seriously, one guy is 21, a senior engineering student, has a job, is a personal trainer, and trains for this competition. And this competition is no joke. I don’t know his name, and he wasn’t at the front of the pack, but he made it to the next round in Las Vegas. I have to say I’m pulling for him.
I’ve joked on here and said I’m going to start training like a UFC fighter (well, that’s not REALLY a joke). But could you imagine what it would be like to say to your friends, “I’m training to be the next American Ninja Warrior!”
Badass.
Seriously, this show is pretty cool. I think it will be coming on Monday nights for a while. I’m pretty sure it’s on NBC. That’s all I know about it.
Absolutely! You can sleep when you’re dead. :)

I have successfully lost 3 lbs in the past week. I am back on my once/week weigh-in schedule. I am determined to break through this plateau.
I signed up for sparkpeople. Never used it before. There are some things SP has that I prefer. And some things MFP has that I prefer. So for now, I am using both.
Eating at home this week has been successful. We ordered take-out one night, but that was sushi and thai food. It really wasn’t too terrible. It’s not like we ordered chinese.
I brought this amazing spinach salad for lunch. It has strawberries, orange slices, and cashews in it. With a “zesty mango vinaigrette”. It’s what was leftover from last night’s dinner.
I’m so excited about losing this weight!!
Happy Monday Everyone!
